Version Checking

The application may periodically check for new versions by making a simple GET request to GitHub's public API. This check:

  • Only retrieves public information: Latest release version and download links
  • Doesn't track users: The server has no way to know who made the request
  • Is purely informational: Only notifies you if a newer version is available
  • Never auto-updates: You always choose whether to download and install updates

Our website uses analytics services to understand how visitors use our site and improve the user experience:

  • Vercel Analytics: Provides basic page view statistics and performance metrics

Data Storage and Processing

Application Data

All data generated by Pits n' Giggles (race sessions, lap times, telemetry data, settings) is stored locally on your computer. This data never leaves your machine unless you explicitly choose to share it.

Saved Race Data

When you save race sessions, the data is stored as JSON files on your local filesystem. These files:

  • Contain only racing telemetry data (lap times, tire wear, fuel usage, etc.)
  • Do not include car setup data by default (for competitive privacy)
  • Can be safely shared with others as they contain no personal information
  • Are under your complete control - delete them anytime

Third-Party Services

GitHub

Our source code is hosted on GitHub, and releases are distributed through GitHub's platform. When you download the application from GitHub or when the app checks for updates, GitHub's privacy policy applies to that interaction. The version checking feature uses GitHub's public API and does not require authentication or user identification.

External Links

Our website contains links to external sites (GitHub, Discord, YouTube, etc.). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer any data to third parties, except:
